Inter begin Scudetto defence as AC Milan, Napoli and Lazio enter the new season under new management
Dubai(News Desk):: STARZPLAY has announced the live and exclusive broadcast of the 2026/27 Serie A season across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with the new campaign kicking off on Saturday, 22 August.
Inter begin their title defence as reigning champions after securing their 21st Scudetto last season. The Italian top flight also enters a new era for several leading clubs, with AC Milan appointing Rúben Amorim, Massimiliano Allegri taking charge of Napoli and Gennaro Gattuso beginning his tenure at Lazio. Gian Piero Gasperini enters his second season at the helm of Roma.
The 2026/27 campaign will feature 20 clubs competing across 38 rounds and 380 matches, with AC Milan, Napoli, Juventus, Roma and Lazio among the teams aiming to challenge Inter for the title. Clubs will also battle for European qualification and to retain their place in Italy’s top flight.
Como enter the season after a landmark campaign that saw them finish fourth and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. They open their campaign away to Udinese on 22 August.
The new season also welcomes three promoted sides: Venezia, Frosinone and Monza. Venezia return to Serie A following promotion from Serie B, while Frosinone return to the top flight after a two-season absence. Monza secured promotion through the Serie B play-offs.
The opening round sets the tone for the campaign, with Inter beginning their title defence against Monza on Saturday, 22 August. Napoli travel to Genoa for Allegri’s first Serie A match in charge of the club, while on Sunday, 23 August, Frosinone mark their return to the top flight against Juventus. Amorim will face his first Serie A test with AC Milan away to Torino. The opening round concludes on Monday, 24 August, when Roma take on Fiorentina.
