Jon Rahm Makes History with Record Sixth Rolex Series Title at Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship.

AbuDhabi(News Desk)::Spanish golf star Jon Rahm made a spectacular debut at the 2026 Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, securing a historic sixth Rolex Series title with a commanding two-shot victory at Yas Links.

Rahm, who was tied on five Rolex Series victories with his Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton before the tournament, moved clear of the Englishman to become the first player to claim six titles in the prestigious series.

The Spaniard delivered an impressive final-round performance, carding a five-under-par 67 to finish at 23 under par and lift the trophy. Hatton finished runner-up at 21 under after signing a final-round 68.

The final group also featured Italy’s Francesco Laporta, while Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy remained firmly in contention as the tournament reached its decisive stages.

The competition witnessed an exciting battle on the back nine, with Rahm, Hatton, Laporta and McIlroy briefly sharing the lead at 20 under par.

Rahm subsequently produced a series of outstanding shots to establish control. A crucial birdie at the 12th extended his advantage, while a magnificent approach shot at the 15th further strengthened his position.

Despite Hatton’s efforts to keep the pressure on, Rahm maintained his composure and closed out the tournament with three consecutive pars to secure the historic victory.

Speaking after his triumph, Rahm described the achievement as particularly special, highlighting his recent challenges, mental battles and return to competitive form following a period of rest and the arrival of a new addition to his family.

He also praised his performance on the back nine, singling out his impressive six-iron second shot at the 15th hole as a potential shot of the year.

The victory marked Rahm’s 11th DP World Tour title and provided a memorable start to his Abu Dhabi championship journey.

Meanwhile, McIlroy finished third at 19 under par, strengthening his position in the Race to Dubai Rankings delivered by DP World as he continues his pursuit of a record-equalling eighth Harry Vardon Trophy.

Laporta finished fourth, while Spain’s Angel Ayora and David Puig, alongside Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger, shared fifth place at 16 under par.

Jayden Schaper secured eighth position at 15 under, while Nathan Kimsey, Matthew Jordan, Adam Scott, Frederic Lacroix and Freddy Schott finished one shot further back.

Hatton’s second-place finish also secured his qualification for next week’s DP World Tour Championship.

Rahm’s record-breaking triumph has added another memorable chapter to Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a leading destination for international golf, with Yas Links providing a spectacular setting for one of the season’s most exciting tournaments.
