Burjeel Holdings Unifies LLH, Lifecare and Medeor Under New Affordable Healthcare Platform.

Dr. Narendra D. Sonigra appointed CEO as the Group strengthens community healthcare access and plans new hospital and clinic expansions across the UAE

AbuDhabi(News Desk):: Burjeel Holdings, a leading super-specialty healthcare services provider in the GCC, has launched a dedicated affordable healthcare platform bringing together its LLH, Lifecare and Medeor brands under a unified leadership structure to expand access to quality medical services and drive sustainable growth across the UAE.

Dr. Narendra D. Sonigra has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the new platform, which integrates primary care clinics, medical centres and multispecialty hospitals under a coordinated operational framework. The initiative will focus on affordable healthcare and industrial health services, with an emphasis on improving patient access, operational efficiency and clinical performance.

The move forms part of Burjeel 2.0, the Group’s transformation and operational alignment programme designed to establish more focused business units with clear accountability for clinical outcomes, patient experience and financial performance. While LLH, Lifecare and Medeor will retain their individual brand identities, they will benefit from shared leadership, coordinated operations and integration with Burjeel Holdings’ wider healthcare network.

Extensive Healthcare Network Across the UAE

The new platform brings together six hospitals in the UAE, including Medeor hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, LLH hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Musaffah, and Lifecare hospitals in Musaffah and Baniyas. The network also includes 24 medical centres and clinics, with a combined capacity of more than 500 beds.

Supported by over 2,400 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses and allied health staff, the platform recorded more than 2.3 million outpatient visits and over 61,000 hospital admissions in 2025.

The businesses contributed 22.5 per cent of Burjeel Holdings’ total revenue in the 2025 financial year, rising to 22.7 per cent in the first half of 2026. Their contribution highlights the importance of affordable healthcare within the Group’s broader operations and its potential for further expansion.

All hospitals within the platform are accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), reinforcing the Group’s commitment to internationally recognised standards of clinical quality and patient safety.

The facilities offer primary, secondary and multispecialty medical services, including complex surgical procedures, under unified clinical governance and quality standards.

New 75-Bed Hospital Planned for Jebel Ali

As part of its expansion strategy, Burjeel Holdings plans to develop a new 75-bed LLH Hospital in Jebel Ali, Dubai, to serve the area’s industrial workforce and surrounding residential communities.

The proposed facility will provide emergency, occupational, primary and multispecialty healthcare services. It will also be connected to Burjeel’s advanced-care network, allowing patients requiring specialised treatment to access higher-level medical services through established referral pathways.

The project is intended to address healthcare needs in a high-growth industrial area while supporting the Group’s strategy of deploying capital efficiently and expanding its presence in communities where accessible medical services are increasingly important.

In addition to the proposed hospital, the platform plans to open more than 10 new clinics across the Emirates. The expansion will target residential communities and major employment hubs, bringing healthcare services closer to families and workers.

Affordable Care With Sustainable Growth

The unified platform builds on an established business base that accounts for more than one-fifth of Burjeel Holdings’ revenue. Its operating model is designed to deliver healthcare at more affordable price points through a leaner cost structure and more efficient workforce deployment, while maintaining profitability comparable to the Group’s wider healthcare portfolio.

The strategy aims to balance affordability with consistent clinical standards, ensuring patients receive quality care regardless of which brand or facility they access.

Each brand will retain a distinct role in serving different patient segments. LLH will continue to focus on accessible community healthcare for middle- and lower-income populations. Lifecare will concentrate on industrial workforces and nearby communities, while Medeor will serve middle-income expatriates and families in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

This differentiated approach is expected to strengthen Burjeel’s relationships with patients, employers and insurers while enabling the Group to respond more effectively to the healthcare needs of diverse communities across the UAE.

Integrated Services and Coordinated Patient Care

Under the new structure, leadership will oversee patient growth, clinical outcomes and financial performance across the three brands. The integrated model is also expected to support more effective procurement, workforce planning and service development.

Primary care facilities and medical centres will serve as initial access points into the wider Burjeel healthcare network, with the platform’s multispecialty hospitals providing additional treatment options. Patients requiring more complex procedures or specialised interventions can be referred to the Group’s tertiary and quaternary care facilities, including Burjeel Medical City.

Where appropriate, follow-up treatment can then be provided closer to patients’ homes and workplaces, supporting continuity of care and reducing the need for unnecessary travel.

The connected network will also improve access to advanced specialties, including oncology, cardiology, orthopaedics, neurosciences, women’s health and transplantation, by linking community-based services with the Group’s broader clinical capabilities.

Burjeel Emphasises Community-Centred Healthcare

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said the performance of the Group’s affordable healthcare hospitals demonstrates the importance of accessible medical services in meeting the needs of communities throughout the UAE.

“LLH, Lifecare, and Medeor have built strong relationships with the communities, families, and workforces they serve. Bringing them together under a unified vertical and leadership structure gives us a clearer framework to develop this business and use our resources more effectively. Our focus is on making quality healthcare close to people’s homes and workplaces,” he said.

He added that the combined platform would provide a stronger framework for developing the business while making more effective use of the Group’s resources.

Dr. Narendra D. Sonigra to Lead the Platform

Dr. Narendra D. Sonigra, who previously served as Regional Director of Operations for Medeor, LLH and Lifecare hospitals in Abu Dhabi, brings extensive experience in healthcare operations and the management of the Group’s medical brands.

In his new role as CEO, he will oversee strategy, operations, clinical performance and business development across the platform. His responsibilities will include improving financial performance, optimising capacity utilisation, strengthening workforce planning and expanding services for families, local communities and industrial employees.

The unified platform represents a strategic step in Burjeel Holdings’ efforts to strengthen its affordable healthcare business, expand its UAE footprint and connect community-level medical services with advanced specialist care. By combining established brands under coordinated leadership, the Group aims to widen access to healthcare while supporting operational efficiency and long-term growth.-ENDS-
