Abu Dhabi Police review best training practices in police patrols in the United States.

New York(News Des)::The Abu Dhabi Police Patrols Development Committee’s Security Patrols Benchmarking Team visited the United States to review best training practices related to police patrol duties in New York, Virginia, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, California, and San Diego.

Colonel Pilot Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Security Patrols Development Committee at the Abu Dhabi Police, praised the visit’s outcomes and its importance in exchanging expertise and learning about developments in police and security work in the United States, which will positively impact the development of applications and practices adopted by the Abu Dhabi Police General Command.

During the visits, coordination and cooperation in the areas of police and security work, the exchange of scientific and specialized knowledge, and the conduct of a benchmarking of best practices and development services were discussed. The visits also included an overview of the pioneering role of training academies in the United States and their efforts to apply the latest contemporary technologies in the areas of modern police and security training, in accordance with international best practices.

The visit to New York included the Training and Pursuit Applications Academy, US Police Aviation (helicopters, drones), the Interior Center, the Highway Center, the Command and Control Center, and the Police Cavalry Center. During the visit, a meeting was held with leaders from the New York Police Department, during which coordination and cooperation in areas of common interest were discussed.

During its visit to Virginia, the delegation discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange of joint expertise with training officials and coordination with the Traffic Safety Organization on the requirements of safe driving policy. It visited the Michigan Academy and learned about the mechanism of theoretical and practical training, the participation of trainers in the practical aspect, and attended an exercise with the participation of K-9.Police aviation and held a coordination meeting with the director of the institute and the specialized team

The delegation’s visit to the Nevada Training Academy included a theoretical presentation on applications and practices, participation in practical applications with trainers, a visit to the police aviation facility, and participation in the first training day during its visit to the Arizona Training Academy. The delegation also visited the Police Museum, participated in field experiments with trainers, and viewed advanced technologies at a smart devices exhibition.

The visit to California included learning about police efforts to implement best practices at the training academy, as well as viewing shooting applications and evaluation mechanisms. The Abu Dhabi Police delegation concluded its visit to the United States by learning about best police practices at the training academy in Santiago and participating with trainers in practical tasks.

The Abu Dhabi Police delegation included Colonel Saeed Ali Al Hassani, Team Leader, and Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al Hammadi, Head of the Criminal Justice Institute Department; Lieutenant Colonel Khalid bin Bishr, Head of the Vehicle Fleet Management Department; Captain Abdul Majeed Al Jabri, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Development Branch; and First Assistant Trainers Hadef Al Dhaheri and First Assistant Salem Al Saadi.
