Tanishq Launches Diamond Expertise Centre in UAE, Bringing Professional Verification Technology to Customers.
New initiative allows customers to examine diamond clarity, light performance, authenticity and natural origin through advanced gemmological instruments.
Dubai, 27th October2026: Tanishq, India’s leading fine jewellery brand and part of the Tata Group, has launched its Diamond Expertise Centre (DXC) across its boutiques in the UAE, introducing a new approach to transparency and consumer confidence in diamond retail.
The initiative brings professional-grade diamond verification technology directly to customers, enabling them to explore, compare and understand diamonds through hands-on demonstrations rather than relying solely on certificates and expert explanations. Designed as an interactive zone within Tanishq boutiques, the centre makes the science of diamond evaluation more accessible and transparent.
A key feature of the DXC is the Diamond Caratmeter, which helps establish whether a diamond is natural or synthetic, a distinction that cannot reliably be determined by the naked eye. The centre also features specialised instruments that allow customers to examine a diamond’s clarity, light performance, optical symmetry and identification markings.
Commenting on the launch, Arun Narayan, Chief Executive Officer of the Jewellery Division at Titan Company Limited, said the initiative builds on Tanishq’s longstanding commitment to transparency, drawing parallels with the introduction of the gold Karatmeter, which enabled customers to verify gold purity.“The DXC applies that same conviction to diamonds. Today’s customer is far more informed, curious and involved in the buying journey than ever before, and they deserve to see the evidence themselves, not simply take a brand’s word for it,” Narayan said.
He added that the centre aims to give customers greater confidence by allowing them to witness the verification process firsthand. The DXC features several specialised instruments, each designed to demonstrate a different aspect of diamond quality. The Clarity Viewer magnifies diamonds so customers can examine their inclusions and better understand the clarity grades stated on their certificates, including VVS, VS and SI.
The LightScope evaluates a diamond’s light performance across three parameters: brilliance, fire and scintillation. The Hearts and Arrows Viewer displays the optical symmetry patterns associated with precisely cut round diamonds, while the Marking Viewer reveals Tanishq’s inscribed logo and unique identification number to support authenticity verification and traceability.
An in-store gemmologist guides customers through the process at every DXC location, explaining the instruments and helping them understand the results. The service is open to customers interested in diamonds from Tanishq’s collections, as well as those wishing to bring in their own stones, including inherited jewellery and diamonds purchased elsewhere.
The initiative is particularly relevant to Tanishq’s Celeste solitaire collection, which focuses on diamond cut and light performance. Through the LightScope, customers can observe how diamonds perform under the instrument’s evaluation parameters.
The centre is supported by Tanishq’s Gemmological Lab (TGL), established in 2002. According to the company, the laboratory has evaluated more than 100 million diamonds over two decades and employs 11 PhD-level specialists. Its assessment process covers the traditional 4Cs—carat, cut, colour and clarity—as well as advanced light-performance parameters, using technologies such as spectrophotometry and Raman spectroscopy.
Only five per cent of the diamonds assessed meet its selection criteria. Every studded piece carries a TGL Certificate of Authenticity, and the company states that its diamonds are responsibly sourced, conflict-free and compliant with the Kimberley Process.
The launch extends Tanishq’s approach to transparency in jewellery retail, moving diamond evaluation beyond certification towards a more interactive customer experience. By enabling customers to observe key characteristics of a diamond with specialised instruments, the brand aims to make purchasing decisions more informed and confidence-driven.
The Diamond Expertise Centre is now available at Tanishq boutiques across the UAE. Customers can visit their nearest boutique to experience the facility and consult an in-store gemmologist.— END —
