Petro Middle East Showcases UAE Manufacturing and Energy Security Vision at ADIPEC 2026.
Abu Dhabi-based company highlights three decades of partnership, local manufacturing investments, advanced energy technologies and Emirati talent development in support of ADNOC’s AED 200 billion project vision.

Abu Dhabi(News Desk):: Petro Middle East (PME), one of the UAE’s leading energy companies, is showcasing its contribution to the country’s energy security and industrial development at ADIPEC 2026, highlighting more than three decades of partnership in bringing international energy technologies to the UAE and developing local manufacturing capabilities.
As ADIPEC 2026 opens at ADNEC under the theme “Performance Under Pressure: Energy Systems in a New Era,” the event brings together energy professionals and exhibitors from around the world to explore the future of energy security, industrial resilience and technological innovation.
With more than 30 years of experience in the UAE energy sector, PME has evolved from representing international manufacturers to actively investing in local industrial production, technology transfer and the development of Emirati talent.
Supporting ADNOC’s AED 200 Billion Investment Vision
The company’s participation comes amid significant opportunities for local manufacturing following ADNOC’s announcement of AED 200 billion in project awards for 2026–2028 and more than AED 60 billion in local manufacturing opportunities through 2030, covering approximately 200 products and critical spare parts.
These initiatives build on AED 80 billion in local manufacturing agreements since 2022 and ADNOC’s AED 90 billion local purchasing target for 2030.
Through the Local+ programme, ADNOC is strengthening the position of UAE manufacturers by prioritising locally produced goods in new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tenders, while accelerating supplier registration and procurement processes.
For PME, these developments represent an important opportunity to expand local production and strengthen the UAE’s industrial supply chain.
From International Representation to Local Manufacturing
PME has expanded its business model through strategic partnerships and joint investments with leading international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), establishing manufacturing and industrial service capabilities within Abu Dhabi.
Its portfolio includes OMB Gulf, a valve manufacturing facility developed with Italy’s OMB, which is completing ADNOC Local Manufacturer qualification ahead of its planned December 2026 start.
Other ventures include Pressbolt Middle East, which is already manufacturing industrial bolting products; CEPAI Gulf, established with China’s CEPAI and licensed as an Industrial Leader for a major valve manufacturing facility; and RRCME, specialising in industrial cleaning and chemical services.
Commenting on the importance of local manufacturing, Khalil El Khatib, Group Managing Director of Petro Middle East, said:“Every product we manufacture here takes one more critical item off the import list. A factory in Abu Dhabi is a security asset, not just a commercial one. When supply chains were disrupted this year, what kept operations running were partners with stock, people and plants inside the country.”
Advanced Technologies Strengthening Energy Operations
Through its Upstream & Advanced Energy Technologies division, PME also provides advanced solutions designed to improve the safety, efficiency, reliability and environmental performance of existing energy infrastructure.
Its international technology partners include Biffi (Emerson), SPX FLOW and Hydro Inc. in flow and rotating equipment, with critical pump re-engineering capabilities being developed locally.
The division also works with Quorum Software in digital energy solutions, Lloyd’s Register in advanced engineering and Johnson Controls in telecommunications technologies.
In another significant development, PME and its partner Sevence have signed a memorandum of understanding with ADNOC covering robotics.
Meanwhile, its strategic partnership with Immensa brings additive manufacturing, 3D printing and digital warehousing into spare-parts management, enabling critical components to be produced on demand in the UAE and reducing dependence on imported inventory.
PME’s international project delivery capabilities are also expanding. Its strategic partner Jereh secured two significant EPC contracts with ADNOC Onshore in 2026, demonstrating the competitiveness of partnerships combining UAE-based expertise with international industrial capabilities.
Why Global Manufacturers Are Investing in Abu Dhabi
According to PME, three major factors are encouraging international OEMs to establish manufacturing operations in the UAE: long-term demand visibility through 2030, preferential treatment for locally manufactured products under Local+, and government support through industrial land at KEZAD, financing opportunities and streamlined qualification procedures.
El Khatib highlighted the changing landscape for international manufacturers, saying:
“An OEM that remains an exporter is now competing against its own products made locally. Our offer is simple: a qualified UAE National partner, an ADNOC-registered platform, and a proven route from first order to local factory.”
Building a Stronger and More Resilient Energy Future
PME’s participation at ADIPEC 2026 reflects the growing importance of local manufacturing, international technology partnerships and industrial investment in strengthening the UAE’s energy ecosystem.
By connecting global expertise with local production, the company aims to support national industrial objectives, strengthen supply-chain resilience, create opportunities for Emirati professionals and contribute to the development of a more self-reliant energy sector.
“ADIPEC is where the energy world meets,” El Khatib concluded. “Make it in the Emirates is where it builds. PME lives at the intersection of the two.”
