London’s Renowned “WatchHouse” unveils Its First Outlet in Abu Dhabi.
Bringing Specialty Coffee and Design-Led Hospitality to the Capital.
Abu Dhabi(News Desk):: WatchHouse has officially opened its first House in Abu Dhabi, bringing the brand’s renowned coffee programme and its distinctive House concept to the capital. Located within The Arcades at Al Khail Square in the grounds of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and brought to life with the support of designer Deidra Hodgson, the House has been thoughtfully crafted as a destination for specialty coffee and all-day dining.
Bringing WatchHouse’s London-born concept to the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, the new House takes inspiration from its unique surroundings, drawing on the Club’s equestrian heritage and distinctive architectural character. Thoughtfully designed to reflect its setting, the space features a dedicated coffee bar, communal tables and more intimate seating areas, creating a welcoming environment for everything from a quick coffee stop to longer, more relaxed visits.
The design:
At the heart of WatchHouse is a belief that no two Houses should ever be the same. Each space is carefully considered to create a distinct identity, shaped by its location, architecture and community. In Abu Dhabi, this approach is expressed through a design narrative inspired by the rich visual history of equestrian culture and the character of the Equestrian Club itself.
Developed in partnership with interior designer, Deidra Hodgson, the House draws on the Club’s Spanish-influenced architecture and the understated craftsmanship found within riding and stable environments, creating a space that feels both contemporary and rooted in its surroundings. Commenting on the House, Hodgson said: “Hand-glazed terracotta tiles, rich colour and an earthen stone floor connect the space to the spirit of the outdoors, while varied seating, including the marble bar with hand-picked beans from around the globe, celebrates specialty coffee, encourages gathering, and fosters meaningful community connections within Abu Dhabi’s evolving lifestyle landscape.”
The menu:
At the centre of the experience is WatchHouse’s coffee programme, featuring responsibly sourced beans, precision-led brewing, and a menu that celebrates quality, ritual and seasonality in every cup. Guests can explore a range of House coffees and seasonal single origins, prepared by WatchHouse’s team of skilled baristas across a variety of brewing methods.
For those looking to delve deeper into specialty coffee, the Rarities bar offers a dedicated tasting experience featuring some of the world’s most exceptional and limited coffees. Sourced from pioneering producers and award-winning farms, these coffees showcase distinctive varietals, innovative processing techniques and remarkable flavour profiles, with guests guided through each coffee’s unique story and character.
Guests can also enjoy an all-day dining menu featuring seasonal dishes designed for everything from relaxed breakfasts ,gatherings,business and informal meetings , leisurely lunches and afternoon coffee catchups. Signature dishes include the Turkish eggs, sweetcorn and polenta pancakes and the Brisket baguette. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy a selection of daily bakes including Caramel biscuit cheesecake, Pistachio and matcha cookies, Banana bread and Cinnamon rolls.
Building on the success of its regional debut at Marsa Boulevard in Dubai, where WatchHouse first introduced its Modern Coffee approach to the local community, the opening of its Abu Dhabi House marks the brand’s first permanent home in the region and a significant milestone in its long-term growth strategy. The new House at The Arcades at Al Khail Square is now open, offering Abu Dhabi guests a permanent home for the WatchHouse experience.
