‘Kilauea’ explodes shooting lava over 1000ft

Volcanic activity resumed at Hawaii as Kilauea volcano erupted on Saturday morning December 6,2025 sending red-hot lava streaming through the air and destroying one of the several cameras streaming live from the scene.

As reported by the officials, Hawaiian volcano erupted creating a remarkable sigh but causing serious destruction to the area.

According to US geological Survey USGS report, the erupted episode began from Kilauea’s north vent around 8:45 am local time and suddenly the eruption changed and the lava started shooting into fountains by 9:45 am.

Lava fountains spewed from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano in a spectacular display of the natural phenomenon shooting lava over 1,000 feet into the air.

The ‘hot tephra’ from volcanic fountain was so extreme that even it destroyed the webcam live-streaming the whole lava shooting activity,reports CBS news.

The Geological Services Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said in a statement that “Sustained lava fountains approximately 50-100 feet in height are currently erupting from the north vent, and fountain heights are increasing rapidly.”

According to media reports ,rare-triple lava fountains were being erupted, two from the north vent and one from the south vent; a first for this eruption.

The webcam captured a unique view of the clouds of hot pumice and volcanic gas as it gradually got closer.

The livestream was interrupted when one of the three webcams was engulfed and destroyed by hot volcanic lava and the destroyed webcam was located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Following the eruption, the emergency officials issued a warning to island residents that elevated gas levels and tephra are present in the area.

“Avoid the area if you have sensitivities or other respiratory conditions,” the Hawaii County Civil Defense stated.

“On roadways, beware of tephra, which may reduce visibility and create traffic congestion. Take necessary precautions to limit your exposure, added officials.
