IGPL Brings First Franchise Event of Second Half to Ras Al Khaimah.
DUBAI(News Desk):: The AM Green Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) is set to return to the UAE, with its first franchise event of the second half of the 2026 season taking place at the prestigious Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah from September 23 to 25, 2026.
The event will be presented by Vimtra Chennai Lions GC, marking another major milestone in the league’s growing presence in the UAE. The second half of the season follows IGPL events held earlier this year in Mauritius, South Africa and Morocco, after the season opener in Chandigarh.
Vimtra Chennai Lions GC will be playing on what it considers its home territory for the week. The team features a strong line-up led by 11-time Asian Tour winner and former Asian Games medallist Gaganjeet Bhullar, alongside Yashas Chandra M.S., Samarth Dwivedi and Harshjeet Singh Sethie.
Bhullar has also enjoyed considerable success in the IGPL, winning four events, including three victories in 2025 and another in 2026.
Al Hamra Golf Club has hosted several international tournaments, including the DP World Ras Al Khaimah Championship from 2022 to 2025, as well as three European Challenge Tour events between 2016 and 2018.
Subash Yammada, CEO of Vimtra Ventures, said the team was excited to bring IGPL to Ras Al Khaimah for its first franchise event of the season.
Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of AM Green IGPL, said the league was delighted to return to the UAE following the strong response to its inaugural Dubai event last December. He added that the event would provide an opportunity to further develop the IGPL community while showcasing Ras Al Khaimah as a golfing destination.
The three-day tournament will bring together leading Indian golfers representing 10 franchise teams, creating a mix of competitive golf, networking and entertainment.
The participating teams are Atri Mumbai Garudas GC, Auro Goa Eagles GC, Flying Man Kolkata GC, Green Fuels Vizag Dolphins GC, GolfKonnekt Bengaluru Stallions, Unico Gurugram Tuskers GC, Krishna Punjab Raptors GC, Phoenix Hyderabad Firebirds GC, RVR Delhi Blue Bulls GC and Vimtra Chennai Lions GC.
