Gewan Hotels & Resorts Expands Amro Talaat’s Leadership Role Across UAE and Egypt
Amro Talaat to oversee strategic, commercial and financial direction as the UAE hospitality group advances growth plans in the UAE and Egypt
ABU DHABI(Web Desk):: 8 September 2026: Gewan Hotels & Resorts has expanded the responsibilities of Amro Talaat, appointing him Chief Executive Officer for the UAE and Egypt as the homegrown hospitality group strengthens its portfolio and prepares for further regional growth.
Talaat joined Gewan Hotels & Resorts as Chief Executive Officer UAE in November 2025. In his expanded role, he will oversee the Group’s strategic, commercial and financial direction across its hotel portfolio in both markets.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi and part of NG9 Holding, Gewan Hotels & Resorts is building a growing hospitality portfolio across the UAE and Egypt, with plans to explore further expansion across the wider Middle East and North Africa region.
Talaat’s expanded mandate will focus on driving sustainable growth, profitability and portfolio performance, while strengthening the Group’s commercial strategy and identifying new opportunities for business development.
He will also work closely with NG9 Holding across its hospitality, travel and related businesses to ensure that Gewan’s properties and commercial priorities support the Group’s broader strategic objectives.
Talaat brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in the hospitality, travel and tourism sectors. His expertise spans commercial strategy, business development, revenue optimisation, strategic partnerships and market expansion.
Before joining Gewan Hotels & Resorts, Talaat held senior leadership positions across NG9 Holding’s hospitality and travel businesses, where he contributed to commercial performance, strategic partnerships and integrated growth initiatives.
He also held executive positions at Nirvana Travel & Tourism, part of NG9 Holding, where he led large-scale sales operations, managed bids for major corporate and government travel projects, supported international market expansion and developed high-performing commercial teams.
Earlier in his career, Talaat spent more than a decade with Rotana Hotels, progressing through several senior commercial positions. He served as Complex Director of Business Development at Beach Rotana, overseeing sales, catering and event operations at one of Abu Dhabi’s prominent hospitality assets.
He also played a key role in the commercial setup and opening of Beach Rotana Residences and held senior positions in sales leadership and key account management, gaining extensive experience in hotel operations, revenue strategy and market positioning.
Commenting on his expanded role, Talaat said Gewan Hotels & Resorts has strong foundations in Abu Dhabi and clear ambitions for future growth.

We want to build a stronger, more competitive business, maximise the performance and value of our portfolio, and pursue the right opportunities for expansion across the UAE, Egypt, and the wider region,” he said.
Talaat added that commercial discipline would be a key driver of the Group’s growth strategy.
“This means strengthening our commercial position, building strategic partnerships, maximising the value of our portfolio, and creating a strong foundation for future expansion. Our ambition is to build a hospitality business with the scale and capabilities to grow across our existing markets and, in time, across the wider region,” he said.
Talaat will continue to lead Gewan Hotels & Resorts across the UAE and Egypt while working closely with NG9 Holding as the Group progresses its long-term hospitality and business expansion strategy.(ENDS)
