BRICS 2025 final meeting concludes in Brasilia, India handed over next presidency.

BRASILIA(News Desk)::The United Arab Emirates attended the closing meeting of the BRICS Partnership Representatives (Sherpas) held in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia, which was held to mark the end of Brazil’s presidency in 2025 and hand over the 2026 chairmanship to India.

The Emirati delegation was led by Ghada Al-Nabulsi, Deputy Director of Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting discussed the main outcomes of the BRICS process during the year 2025, including promoting cooperation in the areas of health, environmental finance, trade and investment. Participants were also given a detailed briefing on public relations and the activities of the BRICS Business Council.

On the second day of the meeting, BRICS partner countries also participated in the discussion and reiterated their commitment to the organization.

On this occasion, Brazil handed over the BRICS presidency to India, which will formally assume charge from January 2026.

The UAE’s membership in BRICS and its active participation in its meetings demonstrate that the UAE considers joint global cooperation and the promotion of multilateral strategies to be indispensable to addressing global challenges. This participation is consistent with the UAE’s principles, which are based on promoting global peace, stability and prosperity.
