Al-Haboub” records a new achievement in the 2026 His Majesty the Sultan’s Camel Racing Festival

Second place in the prestigious Omani festival represents a new peak in the journey of the Saudi camel racing team.

The new arrival, “Hajmah,” lives up to its promises and steals the show with an exceptional performance in its first appearance on the track.

Riyadh (News Desk)::The “Al-Haboub” team, the first professional camel racing team in the world, continues its rapid rise, achieving its best results so far in the 2026 His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup Camel Festival. The camel “Hajmah”, one of the major additions that the team recently acquired, shone, delivering an exceptional and remarkable performance on the race track in Oman.

The prestigious festival was held under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Kamil bin Fahd Al Said, and it extended over five days full of competition through 85 rounds, for which prizes were allocated that included 23 cups and 27 cars, during which “Al Haboub” succeeded in snatching second place with merit.

As part of its long-term strategy and vision, the Saudi team continues to strengthen its ranks with the best and most elite camels, and recently succeeded in attracting “Hajmah” – whose name reflects the spirit of drive and strength – to quickly join the lineup after she attracted attention as a rising and promising talent on the track.

Hajmah comes from a distinguished lineage with a long history in the world of racing, and is known for her exceptional speed and high endurance. She has already proven her worth and superiority at the highest levels of competition, most notably by winning first place in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival.

This new achievement in Oman reinforces the upward trajectory of “Al Haboub” after it won sixth place at the Al Marmoom Festival in Dubai, clearly reflecting the tangible progress and continuous development of the team founded by Saudi entrepreneurs Omar Al Maeena and Safwan Mudir.

In this context, Safwan Mudir, co-founder and chief operating officer of the “Al-Haboub” team, said: “Second place represents our best result so far, and what ‘Hajmah’ has delivered on the track clearly translates the level of precision and care behind every decision we make; from selection and recruitment to preparation and full readiness. We are completely confident in the path we are on.”

For his part, Omar Al-Maeena, co-founder and head of the creative side of the team, added: “‘Hajma’ recently joined our ranks, and has already proven through its debut that it was the right choice.”

“Every camel we add to our ranks, and every race we participate in, reinforces the vision we are building. We seek to redefine the concept of this sport on the global stage, and what we have achieved in Oman is an additional step that leads us towards this goal.”

Commenting on this remarkable result, Paul Pogba, ambassador and shareholder of the “Al-Haboub” team, said: “What we are building at ‘Al-Haboub’ is a real project, and this is undoubtedly an important step forward. Seeing ‘Hajamah’ shine and deliver on its promises from the very first moment clearly reflects the professional level and attention to detail in everything we do. It is an exceptional moment for all of us, and a clear indication of what the future holds in terms of achievements to come.”

The team’s attention is currently focused on its next major event in Qatar, in preparation for participating in the grand annual closing festival under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, which will be held at the Al Shahaniya racecourse, with competitions taking place from April 18 to 30.
