Dubai(News Desk):: Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara proudly announces the appointment of Italian national Chef Massimiliano Ascione as Executive Chef. Since joining the resort in July 2025, Chef Massimiliano has already brought his passion, artistry, and international expertise to Salalah, transforming the culinary narrative with a distinctive blend of Mediterranean flair and global influences.
With more than 20 years of experience across some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts, Chef Massimiliano has honed his craft in Switzerland, Qatar, Malaysia, the UAE, China, and Jordan. His career includes senior positions at luxury icons such as W Verbier, and The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, where he led teams of up to 90 culinary professionals. Known for his innovative approach to Mediterranean and international cuisine, he has earned accolades for his creativity, precision, and ability to craft memorable dining experiences that transcend borders.
At Al Baleed Resort, Chef Massimiliano oversees the resort’s acclaimed dining venues: Mekong, the award-winning Asian fusion restaurant; Al Mina, a Mediterranean haven by the sea; and Sakalan, renowned for its sumptuous breakfast and themed dinner nights. His focus is on elevating each venue with authentic flavours, refined techniques, and a sense of storytelling that celebrates both the bounty of Oman and the traditions of his Italian heritage.
