Al Ain Zoo Welcomes Ramadan with Family Friendly Experiences and Updated Opening Hours

Guests can enjoy a special lineup of family friendly activities, musical evenings and the return of the annual Ramadan Zoo Night Run.

Ā Abu Dhabi(News Desk)::Ā Al Ain Zoo, one of the largest zoos in the Middle East, welcomes guests during the holy month of Ramadan with adjusted opening hours from 2:00pm to 10:00pm daily, offering special family friendly activities, delicious traditional food and limited time animal themed play areas for children.

Whether visiting in the afternoon or the evening, guests can soak in the winter breeze while strolling through nature alongside more than 4,000 animals, with outdoor majlis seating overlooking the rhinos and giraffes. Guests can also enjoy bird and reptile pop-up encounters happening till late.

Break your fast at the newly opened Zarafa restaurant

Guests looking to break their fast in a unique wildlife setting can visit the newly opened Zarafa Restaurant and enjoy a hearty serving of traditional chicken machboos. For dessert, a short stroll to Oasis CafƩ offers classic UAE luqaimat bites paired with a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Immerse in traditional melodies while children play

In the evening, families can unwind to the gentle sounds of live oud and qanun performances. In the Pavilion area, traditional children’s games return while little ones can also enjoy face painting, animal themed play areas or decorate their hands with henna.

Join the run through Al Ain Zoo’s wildlife trail

For fitness enthusiasts, Al Ain Zoo brings back its annual Ramadan Zoo Night Run on February 28. Designed for beginners and amateur runners, the race kicks off at 10:00pm, with participants able to choose between 2.5km and 5km distances. Finalists will be awarded Al Ain Zoo themed medals to celebrate their achievement.

Step into an educational experience at the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Center

Guests looking to learn more about wildlife, heritage, and conservation this Ramadan can visit the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Center, a world-class educational and cultural institution nestled in the heart of Al Ain Zoo. The Center offers insights into the Zoo’s conservation programs through interactive exhibits and immersive displays, inviting visitors of all ages to reflect on sustainability, biodiversity, and the role everyone can play in shaping a better future for the planet. During Ramadan, the center will open additional timings for the night projection Heritage show.

General admission is AED31.50 for adults, AED10.50 for children aged 3 to 12 and free for children under 3. The Al Ain Safari, offering a 45-minute guided journey for up to six guests in a private SUV, is priced at AED1,050.
