Agreement to promote fire safety practices and emergency response
AbuDhabi(News Desk)::The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority signed a cooperation agreement with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the UAE’s largest industrial company outside the oil and gas sector, to enhance fire safety practices and improve emergency response at the company’s site in the Al Taweelah Industrial Area. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in joint training, technical knowledge exchange, and the adoption of the latest fire prevention and control standards.
On this occasion, His Excellency Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri affirmed that the agreement represents a qualitative step towards strengthening strategic partnerships between the government and industrial sectors, noting that cooperation with Emirates Global Aluminium, as a leading industrial entity at the national level, embodies the Authority’s commitment to spreading a culture of safety and enhancing emergency response capabilities within vital facilities.
Colonel Dr. Faisal Hassan Al-Qahtani, Acting Director of the Civil Protection Sector, explained that this agreement is the first of its kind with a leading industrial entity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and represents a model of integrated partnerships that enhance the efficiency of emergency response and raise the level of operational readiness according to the highest international standards, to be a reference to be followed in developing future cooperation between the Authority and the industrial sector in the Emirate.
For his part, Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium, expressed his pride in this collaboration, saying: “Safety is an integral part of our corporate culture, and we have made it a fundamental pillar of our operations for decades. This agreement with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority confirms our ongoing commitment to enhancing our capabilities in dealing with emergencies, and sharing our advanced expertise in this field to serve the safety of our employees, facilities, and the community at large.”
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is one of the leading industrial companies in the UAE that implements the strongest fire safety and emergency response systems. It operates fully equipped fire stations at its two sites in Al Taweelah and Jebel Ali, staffed by a dedicated team of 72 highly qualified personnel, including four women trained in firefighting and rescue. These teams are on standby 24/7, with a response time of no more than five minutes to any emergency within the company’s sites, and are equipped with state-of-the-art vehicles, equipment, and risk management systems.
The company adheres to the highest national and international standards, including the UAE Fire Prevention and Safety Guidelines, as well as global fire service laws and standards, which enhances its position as one of the leading companies in the field of industrial safety in the UAE.
This agreement comes as an extension of the ongoing cooperation between the two sides, and as a consolidation of their joint efforts in strengthening the prevention and public safety system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with the wise leadership’s directions towards building a safe and sustainable work environment that supports the industrial and economic growth of the country
