  • The center will contribute to improving digital and artificial intelligence skills and will raise the efficiency of operation and maintenance teams. The center aims to train 2,000 engineers and specialists annually by employing the latest technologies used to modernize the sector and support the transition and sustainability in the energy field throughout the Middle East region.
  • The ABB Customer Experience Center will showcase The new technology incorporates the latest power transmission and distribution technologies, as well as protection and control systems, and will enhance the efficiency of energy system management in the industrial, transportation, infrastructure, building, and facility sectors.

Dubai(News Desk)::ABB opened Today, a $2 million training and expertise transfer center has been established in the UAE, aiming to develop digital and engineering skills in industrial applications and the energy, utilities, and transportation sectors across the Middle East. This center will accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge digital energy solutions for data centers, utilities, and smart industrial, residential, and commercial buildings. It will further solidify the UAE’s position at the forefront of the region’s digital energy transformation.

According to the International Energy Agency, electricity demand in the UAE is projected to grow by up to 4% annually by 2035, driven by urban expansion, industrial growth, and the electrification of transportation and cooling services. Meeting this demand requires advanced technologies that enhance the efficiency of operations and maintenance teams, improve energy flexibility, optimize capital investment, and accelerate sustainability. As sectors expand to meet this growing demand, strategic asset management powered by artificial intelligence will be crucial to ensuring reliability, reducing costs, and achieving net-zero emissions targets.

In his comments, Marco Tellerini, Senior Vice President of Electrical Services at ABB, said In the Europe, Middle East and Africa region : “The electricity sector today faces a dual challenge: the retirement of a workforce of experienced technicians and the urgent need to attract and train new generations with modern digital skills. Companies must therefore provide the next generation with expertise in data-driven asset management, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance. Our new facility in the UAE will help bridge the skills gap by combining hands-on training with exposure to the latest digital and artificial intelligence technologies. This will enable local engineers and operators to easily manage future energy infrastructure and systems.”

The new 2,500-square-meter Customer Experience Center, located in Dubai’s Al Quoz Industrial Area, includes a state-of-the-art workshop for the maintenance and upgrade of electrical transmission, distribution, control, and protection systems, as well as a lecture hall and collaborative training spaces. The center will support the training and skills development of approximately 2,000 engineers and technicians annually from across the Middle East region, focusing on the latest medium-voltage technologies. Low-cost, digital asset management, artificial intelligence solutions, and predictive maintenance.

This new center will also enable enhanced energy resilience through knowledge sharing and skills development to support the modernization and upgrading of legacy technologies in customer facilities. Upgrading to the latest digital asset management technologies will improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance trust and reliability in existing systems. This will benefit ABB customers. Its distributors, installation partners and engineering consulting firms will keep pace with rapid technological changes and will ensure that local talent is able to operate and maintain electrical systems that are increasingly becoming digital.

ABB maintained ABB has had a strong presence in the UAE since 1976, employing over 600 people across four offices, factories, and innovation centers. More than 1,200 employees in the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain).
