Cooperation Protocol to Organize the Fourth International Mexican Date Festival 2025

 Abu Dhabi(News Desk)::In a new step to enhance international cooperation in the development of the palm cultivation sector, date production and agricultural innovation, the General Secretariat of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, affiliated with the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation – Presidential Court, signed a joint cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the United Mexican States, to organize the Fourth International Mexican Date Festival 2025, during the period from November 27-29, 2025 .
The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, via video conference, in the presence of His Excellency Santiago JosÊ Arguello Santos, General Coordinator of the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture, representing His Excellency the Mexican Minister of Agriculture; His Excellency Luis Alfonso de Alba Góngora, Ambassador of the United Mexican States to the United Arab Emirates; His Excellency Professor Abdul Wahab Al Bukhari Zaid, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation; and a number of representatives from both sides. .
During his speech, His Excellency Santiago Argullo praised the UAE’s efforts in supporting the palm and date sector at the regional and international levels, appreciating the UAE’s support for this strategic sector, which constitutes a pillar of food security and sustainable agricultural development. He also emphasized the strength of bilateral relations between the UAE and Mexico, noting that the agri-food sector represents an effective path to achieving a better life for the people of both countries and contributes to enhancing global food security. .
For his part, His Excellency Santiago ArgĂźello Campos, General Coordinator of the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, praised the UAE’s pioneering position in the field of palm cultivation and the production, processing, and marketing of dates, stressing that organizing this festival constitutes an important platform for building bridges of cooperation and deepening the partnership between the two countries in this vital sector. .
In turn, Professor Abdul Wahab Al Bukhari Zaid affirmed that the signing of this protocol reflects the international confidence that the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, affiliated with the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation – Presidential Court, has gained as a leading global platform for supporting sustainable agricultural development and strengthening international partnerships, thanks to the directives and support of the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates. .
The Secretary-General pointed out that organizing the Fourth International Mexican Date Festival 2025 will constitute a new qualitative milestone in the series of international festivals organized by the award in a number of date-producing countries, with the aim of enhancing the exchange of expertise, developing value chains, and opening up broader horizons for marketing Mexican dates regionally and globally, thus contributing to achieving sustainable economic and agricultural development. .
