James Holt, longtime senior aide to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is returning to London with his family but will continue working closely with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Holt, who has spent nearly a decade with the couple, will step back from day-to-day leadership at Archewell Philanthropies but remain a senior adviser and will oversee their overseas humanitarian projects.
It was confirmed by Sussexesâ spokesman, who said Holt âwill remain a senior philanthropic advisor for the couple and Archewell Philanthropies, supporting their humanitarian trips overseas in 2026.â
Speaking on the matter, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams noted that Holtâs move reflects organisational changes at Archewell.
However, he noted that Holt will remain actively involved in Harry and Meghanâs charitable work.
He told GB News, âThe details available indicate he is not severing ties with them but is returning to London.â
âIt is a very small charity; their ambitions are unfulfilled if they expected more donations.
âMr Holt will remain their âsenior philanthropic advisorâ helping to manage humanitarian trips abroad,â he added.
Speaking out on Holt’s move to UK, Harry and Meghan said, âJames has been a stellar support for us for nearly ten years.Â
“His enthusiasm and talent in overseeing our philanthropic endeavours have been extraordinary,â the statement added.
âAs James moves his young family back to the UK, we are proud that he will continue to guide various humanitarian trips for us overseas through Archewell Philanthropies.â
