IGPL kicks off in Dubai

Dubai(News Desk)::After an exhilarating practice round on Sunday, December 7th, our tournament week began in truly unforgettable fashion.We had the immense honour of welcoming His Excellency General Abdullah Al-Hashmi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, whose presence elevated the significance of this milestone event.
General Abdullah officially opened our inaugural tournament with an exceptional opening shot from Tee 1, marking a powerful and symbolic start to our first-ever UAE event at The Els Club by Shiv Kapur.
We are both honoured and deeply grateful for the support shown by General Abdullah and the Emirates Golf Federation. Their encouragement has played a vital role in bringing this tournament to life and we cannot wait to witness the excitement and achievements that the remaining days of competition will bring.
This event represents a special moment for our organization, and we look forward to building on this incredible beginning as we continue to grow the game of golf in the UAE At the end of day one, Indian golf legend Chawrasia holds two-shot lead with Bhullar in close chase. Shiv Shankar Prasad Chawrasia, one of the legends of Indian golf, gave himself the best start in any IGPL event as he fired a steady 7-
under 65 to take the first-round lead at IGPL UAE. Chawrasia, who professed ā€œI love this city, where I have played a lot of European Tour events and I enjoy the vibe here. I have lot of friends and the city has great golfing facilities. So, it is nice to come here with the IGPL Tour and the 7-under round was an icing on the cake.ā€
There was a big group of five stars, including two women, Hitaashee Bakshi and IGPL Mumbai winner, Pranavi Urs in tied fourth place at 3-under. The other three players at 3-under included Karandeep Kochhar, Trishul Chinappa and M Dharma.
Young amateur Vihaan Reddy was among a big group of nine players at Tied-ninth at 2-under.
Bhullar, who has a perfect record in IGPL, winning each time he has played the Tour, was once again in great form.
Without dropping a bogey, he birdied twice on the front nine on the seventh and the eighth. On the back nine he picked gains on the 11th, 13th, and the 16th.
Kartik Singh, who came close to winning a couple of times in the first half of the IGPL season, had six birdies against one
bogey to be tied second with Bhullar, who is one of his idols.
